For our first day working on the project, Luke and I decided to pursue a podcast creation. We zoomed with our mentor, Myles Simmons, who gave us some advice on how to structure what would be our first podcast together. His main points were to make sure we both had notes that included accurate statistics for reference, keep the tone of our voices interesting and light, and make sure one of us plays the part of a host to guide the podcast and create flow. So we both prepared pages of notes arguing the opposite side of a timeless debate in the football world: Is Tom Brady the G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time)? Once we began recording it was a little bit mechanic in the sense that we were sort of just going back and forth. However, once we started to get more comfortable, it felt like we were just arguing with a microphone on. We were having fun with it and making sure to keep a good flow. We even added a break in the middle to space out our topics which Mr. Simmons complimented. Once we finished recording we added some music to improve the production quality and make our voices not so singled out. Then, since we still had some time left in the day, we started working on constructing a website to display of the content that we would be creating. We photo shopped an image together to serve as the cover for the podcast and to give the reader an idea of what we might be talking about. I think podcasts are one of my favorite mediums to use for creating sports content because it feels like an honest debate that's easily relatable. Overall, our first project went well and I'm looking forward to exploring with different mediums and expanding on different topics.
